Biography:
Bret Daeley; trainer, and athlete of CrossFit Uncensored
Background:
Was born and raised in Southern California, he has lived here his whole life. Bret grew up playing traditional sports such as football and baseball, continued into the high school and college level playing football and running track. It wasn’t until college around the age of 20 that lifting and off the field training became important to him, it was then that he realized he wasn’t going to be able to excel in the sports that he was involved in without size and strength gains.
After college and his organize sports days were over, his strength training did not end, this is when Bret started to figure out what his body really could and could not do. Bret would go through periods where he would see how big and strong he could possibly get through heavy weight training, then he would go into a period where he would see how lean he could get and to what point he could push cardio training. During this time Bret learned several things, what he had to eat or not eat to accomplish these goals and what supplements worked and didn’t work. He went from a 210 pound mound of bulk to a lean 160 pound running machine. Through all this training there was still a problem. Bret knew that being a cardio machine and not being able to lift his body weight over his head was a problem, also being a mound of bulk wouldn’t do him any good if he couldn’t run down the street without being totally winded or pulling a hamstring. This is where the search started for something to satisfy his craving to become an athlete once again, and this is when Bret discovered CrossFit.
Bret has been actively training in a CrossFit gym for some time now and has never felt the “all around” fit feeling that he does now. Even with a background in high level athletics, Bret states, “I can truly say I have never felt so fit through CrossFit training. Now, being a Level 1 CrossFit trainer I can give back to the community not only what I have taken from CrossFit, but what I have personally learned through much trial and error over many years. I am excited to be apart of the Crossfit Uncensored Team, and to help all accomplished their fitness goals.”
